Laura McGrogan (PR and Cello)

Laura spent a year at the Royal Scottish of Music and Drama, under the tutelage of Robert Irvine, before deciding to continue her studies at Queen’s University Belfast with the co-leader of the Ulster Orchestra, Morag Stewart. While at Queen’s Laura has played in several ensembles and participated in many of the composer concerts throughout her years of study. While being involved in these ensembles she has performed music by both staff and students of the university, including pieces by Piers Hellawell.  Outside of her studies she has has played across Europe with violinist Gascia Ouzounian, taught on summer music courses, such as Summer Strings, and has joined many local singer/songwriters in performances. Apart from playing in the Quangle Ensemble Laura is the peripatetic cello teacher at Aquinas Grammar School and the City of Belfast School of Music.
