The Quangle Ensemble is a newly formed contemporary music ensemble. The ensemble is based in Belfast but will draw performers and composers from across Northern Ireland and Ireland in order to produce professional concerts at various venues across the island.
The ensemble will have 15 resident composers and performers who will work together in order for the composers to create music which suits the performer and for the performer to interpret the music exactly as the composer intended.
There are already two concerts in the pipeline: an electro-acoustic concert in January and a string duo in early 2011. The tape concert will feature works by Daniel Morse, Ben McHugh, Maureen Doris and Matthew Whiteside.
